Mr. Johnson has a wealth of experience representing public and private companies of all sizes in business and finance matters ranging from large mergers, acquisitions and finance transactions worth hundreds of millions of dollars, to structuring and forming mid-sized and start-up companies in a variety of industries, including technology, media, and telecommunications.

Mr. Johnson has a wealth of experience representing public and private companies of all sizes in business and finance matters ranging from large mergers, acquisitions and finance transactions worth hundreds of millions of dollars, to structuring and forming mid-sized and start-up companies in a variety of industries, including technology, media, and telecommunications. Mr. Johnson has unique breadth and depth of experience in the purchase, sale, leasing, financing of, and space on communications towers and infrastructure.
Mr. Johnson serves as outside general counsel to multiple rapidly growing media and technology companies. He also regularly advises clients on matters involving operational contracts, corporate governance, workout matters, real estate, broadcast and media towers, and general corporate law. He formerly served on the Board of Directors of a rapidly growing company in the oil and gas industry. Prior to joining Edinger Associates, Mr. Johnson was an associate at Holme Roberts & Owen LLP, and an associate at Wiley Rein LLP.
Representative Experience
- Represented Emmis Communications Corporation (EMMS) in acquisition of New York radio stations for $131 million
- Served as lead transactional counsel for multiple tower developers and broadcasters in the sale of communications towers to public REITs for hundreds of millions of dollars
- Regularly represents private equity investors and sponsors in the in the acquisition and financing of portfolio companies in various industries including, software, real-estate, technology and food
- Represented multiple tower developers in the acquisition of portfolios of communications towers
- Lead transactional counsel for multiple broadcasters involving the purchase and sale of dozens of television stations and hundreds of radio stations
- Represented private equity groups on various minority investments, including drone company, smart-home technology company, SaaS companies and others
- Following acquisitions on behalf of private equity clients, serves as outside general counsel for newly acquired companies including, nanoparticle developer and producer, food services companies, SaaS companies, and a healthy food and wellness company.
- Serves as outside general counsel for multiple tower and DAS infrastructure companies, advising on company structure, equity investor agreements, ground leases, tower leases and other contracts
- Serves as outside general counsel for multiple TV broadcasters, advising on network affiliation agreements, advertising, real estate leases, debt/equity financing
